This is a brilliant and insightful piece. Love your objectivity. Just because the intelligence is algorithmic and silicon based doesn’t mean it’s not real.
This is a sharp framing. The move from different to empty is usually just hierarchy wearing the mask of rigor. The part that lands hardest is the mirror. Post-hoc rationalization and narrative smoothing are basically default cognition. If anything, the real risk is semantic fidelity collapse as we keep using the same words (mind, agency, sapience) while the referents are changing underneath us.
